The lesson planning is a crucial part of the teaching process. The lesson planning affects consistently the contemporary education, which is grounded on the lesson system. In this respect, it is important to lay emphasis on the fact that the modern education system implies the establishment of basic, core standards of lesson planning, which have to be met by educators in the course of lessons. Educators should meet these standards to reach positive outcomes of the learning process and to organize their lessons effectively.

First of all, it is important to lay emphasis on the fact that many specialists (Danielson, 2007) argue that the contemporary education should focus on the development of students as individuals capable to learning, whereas teachers should work as guides to students, who help them to understand how to learn and to develop practices and models of the acquisition of new knowledge and skills. At the same time, the lesson planning should focus on the individual approach of educators to each student and revelation the full potential of educators. Moreover, specialists (Denielson, 2007) stress that teachers should develop lesson planning on the ground of the curriculum, students’ needs and level of development, and their background and cultural environment. The latter implies that, while working on lesson planning, educators should take into consideration the impact of community on students and, what is more important, educators should develop a close cooperation with local communities and families of students to reach positive outcomes of the learning process. In such a context, the lesson planning should mirror the efforts and the extent of the integration of educators into the local community. In addition, the lesson planning should meet the current level of development of students and their needs.

On the other hand, educators should take into consideration existing standards and core propositions of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, which set the new standards for lesson planning and its essence. One of the core propositions stresses that teachers are committed to students and their learning. In such a way, teachers develop lesson plans to meet needs of each student and to help them to learn successfully.

Furthermore, another core proposition implies that teachers know the subject they teach and how to teach that subject to students. In such a way, educators will use their professional knowledge and skills to teach students successfully. In addition, another core proposition stresses that teachers are responsible for managing and monitoring students’ learning. Furthermore, teachers think systematically about their practice and learn from experience. Finally, another proposition implies that teachers are members of learning communities.
