The practical use of solar energy has received a sizeable spread in many countries thanks to its positive quality - renewability, nearly universal, with a full environmental cleanliness. Solar energy is a component of alternative energy, based on the direct use of sunlight to generate energy in any form. Solar power uses a renewable source of energy and it is environmentally friendly, that is not generating hazardous waste. The main component of development of this industry is solar power engineering - the direct conversion of sunlight into electricity using semiconductor photovoltaic cells. In many advanced countries, the development of "solar" housing has become one of the areas of public policy. Prospects for solar energy. Among the possible "successors" who can pick up the baton from the traditional energy, the most attractive among all the alternative sources of power is the sun, simply because millions of years it is in connection with Earth and all Earth processes have become accustomed to it. People simply must take control of the flow of solar energy and maximize its use, thus keeping intact the unique climate of the earth.

Solar Energy is heating the surface, absorbing the sun's rays and the subsequent distribution and use of heat (concentrating solar radiation on the vessel with water for subsequent use in heating hot water or steam into electrical generators). Exist thermo-air power (converting solar energy into the air flow to be sent to the turbo) and solar balloon power (generation of water vapor inside the container balloon by heating the surface by solar radiation balloon coated with a selectively-absorbing coating). This significantly reduces the cost of equipment, and of the produced energy. Currently, the solar water heating is the most effective way of converting solar energy. Generated on the basis of solar radiation, energy can in 2050 to ensure 20-25% of the needs of mankind in electricity and reduce emissions of carbon dioxide. Experts believe the International Energy Agency (IEA), that the solar power in 40 years at an appropriate level of dissemination of advanced technologies will produce about 9,000 terawatt-hours - or 20-25% of the total required electricity and it will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 6 billion tons annually.

We all know that natural resources are being depleted. But that's not near as recently thought to be exhausted (of coal, for example, enough even for many hundreds of years) - concerned primarily deleterious effects of non-renewable energy resources on the environment. The main drawback of combustion in thermal power plants (TPP) of fossil fuels is the pollution emissions. Even TPP operating with the use of modern technologies, such as the burning of coal in a fluidized bed or circulating fluidized bed, from an environmental point of view is far from perfect. In addition, they cause irreparable damage to mining, processing, transportation fuels and absolutely useless gas flaring and oil. We should not forget that in addition to natural sources to the power station burned, atmospheric oxygen, planetary reserves also have their limits.

Hydroelectric power plants, although their share in world energy is low (on average 15%), also caused enormous damage to nature. Overlap of rivers by dams, the use of huge areas of land under the reservoir have led to serious environmental violations. Specialists forecast that by 2020, global demand for electricity will increase by several times and will reach 34 billion tons of standard fuel per year. Such unbridled energy development, whether we like it or not, will be more harmful to the environment, and scientists believe this could be one of the causes of irreversible climate change. To solve this problem would help a broad and widespread use of alternative, or, as they are called, renewable sources of energy - much more "pure" from an environmental standpoint than traditional power facilities.

All in all, the future of the solar energy – is in the direct conversion of sunlight into electricity using semiconductor photovoltaic cells - solar cells. Back in the 30's of last century, when the efficiency of the first photovoltaic cells barely reached 1%, said this founder of the Physics-Technical Institute (PTI), Academician Abram Ioffe. Anticipation was realized in late 1950 with the launch of artificial satellites, the main source of energy which have solar panels. Now all over the world companies are actively selling solar panels.

All forms of life one way or another receive energy from the sun from plants and bacteria, and ending with a man. It can be argued that without the sun's energy on our planet would be no life. Solar energy supports not only the living organisms; it also supports the existence of an atmosphere on the ground, moving air masses in the atmosphere, ocean currents.

The sun is the most powerful source of energy for planet Earth. No other source can give such an amount of energy that gives us the sun. All man-made heat and power plants produce a small part of what gives us the sun. All organic minerals to keep us energy have been received from the sun for millions of years, but even these minerals are nothing compared to what we get from the sun each day. The sun can be for humanity an inexhaustible source of energy and by converting this energy from the sun people can satisfy all their needs without harming the environment.
